Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes became the seventh team to qualify for Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai

Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes became the seventh team to qualify for Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai.

The Czech-Indian duo formed their partnership at Roland Garros in May 2008 and at their second tournament reached the Halle final (l. to Youzhny-Zverev).

They also advanced to the Wimbledon semifinals (l. to Nestor-Zimonjic), finished runner-up at the US Open (l. to Bryan-Bryan) before they captured their first title at Bangkok (d. Lipsky-Martin) and were beaten in the Tokyo final (l. to Youzhny-Zverev).

The 25-year-old Dlouhy made his Tennis Masters Cup debut last year, with countryman Martin Damm. The pair went 2-1 in round robin action, but did not qualify for the semifinals.

Paes, 35, is competing at the prestigious circuit finale for the eighth time with his fourth different partner. He made his debut with Indian compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi in 1997 where they pair reached the final (l. to Leach-Stark). They also finished runner-up in 1999 (l. to Lareau-O’Brien) and 2000 (l. to Johnson-Norval). In tandem with Nenad Zimonjic, Paes also advanced to the 2005 final (l. to Llodra-Santoro).
